Fishing Report: yesterday first time visit to Rio Grand headwater, CO.
Another bucket list checked!
Started out late, left home 840 AM and came back 820 PM because I miscalculated distance and road condition thus took almost 10 hrs. round trip driving.
Hence, had less than 1.5 hrs. of fishing time to check out the new place but still caught a dozen trout.
With my bad back, I had to pull over every couple of hours to stretch and walk around but the mesmerizing fall scenery kept me less tiresome.
It’s a beautiful river and 7 miles of Catch and Release water!
I didn’t see any trout to sight fish for thus used my fishing system to overcome the trouble what other fishermen there were having.
Seen many public sections on the way to the headwater, lot closer to South Fork area. I’d like to check out there someday and can be easy a day trip from San Juan River.
