In todays video I go bass fishing at a pond which Is loaded with Largemouth bass. Bass fishing in winter can be tricky, you favorite pond isn’t producing any bites and it is making you feel like you can’t catch bass.
This is why it is important to find bass in this winter period. Sometimes it helps to drive out to different venues and places that are abit of the beaten track to get to. Kloofzicht isn’t at all of the beaten track but it is alittle more of a drive to get to for some bass fishermen. This makes the presure on the pond very low and the bass will be willing to eat lures.
Another important thing about bass fishing Is to arrive earlier then other anglers. This gives you the advantage of getting to bass fishing spots on the pond before the others can fish them. This gives you a higher chance of catching more bass in. the winter period.
I have always said this but try cover your water columns. Winter bass fishing doesn’t really allow to top water so try and cover the water below the surface of middle column with a moving lure to find out if the bass are in the mood to chase lures.
After cover the top to middle column of the water try fish a bottom contact bass fishing lure to see if the bass hanging on the bottom. This is a great way to catch those winter time largemouth bass.
On this winter morning I arrived really, the sun haden’t even come up yet and I already had 5 fish before 10 am. This has to do with trying to find bass and also follow the rules how to get bass to bass.
This winter bass fishing season in south africa hasn’t been the best and I needed a really good day on the water. This bass fishing season has given me that boost to go out and create bass fishing content.
