After a couple months of heavy work load, vacation, and some skunk trips out on the boat, I finally picked the right night to hit a new spot looking for carp. I’ve fished the spot plenty of times for bass, catfish, and bluegill but never carp. Threw together the standard packbait: oats, jello, sweet corn and set up. Been fighting a sinus infection, I think, so felt pretty rough and it was miserably hot but I needed to catch a fish. Took a couple hours and right before wrapping up finally landed one after losing the first one by making a dumb mistake.
