Wisconsin DNR offering free fishing equipment to rent

Equipment
At various DNR headquarters, state parks, and forests, you can rent out fishing equipment for free. Most sites will have basic fishing gear including spincasting and spinning rods and reel, casting plugs, bobbers, hooks, lines, and sinkers. Some locations may have more items like fly fishing equipment and educational fish packs for kids.

When renting anything out, Joseph Gerbyshak, a biologist with the DNR, asks anglers who borrow items to return them in clean, working condition.

Gerbyshak said the free rentals are great for young people or older adults who may not be able to afford their own fishing gear.
